Biography

I am an oil painter based in the UK.

Central to my painting process has been and remains painting outside en plein air in the landscape I am trying to capture, surrounded by it's nature and noise.

Painting whilst exposed to the elements and a changing environment was at the core of impressionist painting. It takes practice, careful observation and a process to simplify an image to its core parts and bring it to life through colour and texture. It's a tradition I love and keep to when painting.

I use traditional methods, paints, supports and spirits to produce my paintings with the goal to create a painting which can stand the test of time.. and scrutinising eyes!

I have exhibited at the Chelsea Art Society and the Society of Royal British Artists.
